Juan Alarcón was born on April 12, 1970 in Mexico City. He studied Mechanical Industrial Technical Illustrator in the IPN, a degree in sculpture from the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving "La Esmeralda" INBA. And exercised the office of the cartoon since 1988.
He has worked in newspapers: The Eastern Generation, El Universal, and De Here in Hermosillo, Sonora, as well as in the supplement "The Owl" Excelsior. Also, his work has been seen in magazines: Takeoff, Revista de Revistas, Always!, Coatepec, The Guiri-Guiria, Lapiztola, How, Time, Chilango, Kiiol and Playboy. He has illustrated books including: The World Boxing History, published by the CMB, and Melissa Storytime (children's book to enlighten, Victor Roura). He has published three books and white humor cartoon entitled The Fauna de Alarcón 1, 2 and 3.
He won the National Journalism Prize 2009 awarded by the Journalists Club of Mexico, the first in the Editorial Carton Contest International Education Forum 2000 and the Second National Cartoon Competition Economic Policy in Mexico in 2004. His cartoons are included in the catalogs of the First International Cartoon Contest held at the Tehran Book Fair, Iran, Aydin Dogan International Cartoon Competition 2007 in Istanbul, Turkey, the World Press Cartoon 2007 in Lisbon, Portugal, and the International Biennial of Caricature "José Guadalupe Posada, Mexico.
Illustrated geographically developed a neighborhood of San Angel for the Fall Cultural Festival in 1995, published by the San Angel Foundation. Similarly, did the plan to the Water Park Ixtapan de la Sal portraits, cartoons HERDEZ managers, covers for books of the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES); comic brochures and a poster for the National Support Fund for Social Enterprises (FONAES) of SEDESOL; Magazine cartoons LICONSA disclosure, as well as the CD cover Tangos Prohibited Oscar Chávez.
Has been invited to give talks on various forums cartoon Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Mexico City, the National Polytechnic Institute, the Autonomous University of Chapingo, Carlos Septien School, The University of Alcalá de Henares in Spain, and Fundación Manuel Buendía, among many others.
He has participated as a cartoonist on Channel 11, Azteca 13, Channel 40 and Channel 22 in the program to the newspaper.
In terms of sculptural work, a mural-relief of 26 square meters in pink stone for the building of the City Medical Examiner, and founded a bust Mr. Joseph A. Bronze Padilla Segura, creator of CONALEP to Culiacan, Sinaloa. He worked for the Wax Museum Mexico City and Tijuana Wax Museum, in addition, the wax figure of Frida Kahlo has traveled to several museums in Mexico including the Palacio de Bellas Artes, in the National Tribute to Frida Kahlo. His sculptural work has been published in the journal Tierra Adentro.
From 2000 to 2005 he designed and built puppets for Teddy TvAzteca Facts, and is the creator of the plush Asegún Marta, Memortiz, Luis Pozos, George Push, Bin Laden and Chente Fax, among many others. He also built the puppet Toto Things for Children production.
Along with cartoonist Rictus created and produced vinyl dolls Tin Tan and Pedro Infante.
The work done by John Alarcon has been exhibited at the Museum of Caricature, Radio Educación, Fundación Sebastian, Museo Casa Estudio Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo and the Palace of Fine Arts and much more besides. Together account for more than 20 individual and 30 collective exhibitions.
Today is a cartoonist for the newspaper El Financiero and performs weekly magazine cover Always!
